Could Mario Gotze be on his way to Liverpool? There’s talk that the German midfielder could soon be reunited with his former manager after dropping out of the Borussia Dortmund team.

This appears to have stemmed from comments made by his former colleague Kevin Grosskreutz, who has suggested a change of scenery for the 26-year-old.

“Maybe it’ll do him a world of good to leave Bundesliga in the winter, move abroad where it’s all a bit quieter and where he knock his career into shape again,” he said. “Jurgen Klopp knows him well. He’d be a good fit at Liverpool.”

When asked about the rumours, Klopp refused to comment.

“If I have to say something to Mario then I call him, I don’t talk about it [to you],” he said. “I have nothing to say.”

Maybe five years ago a move for Gotze would be good, but the player’s drop in form is a concern and not a risk Liverpool need to take right now.
