Alisson Becker has reported back to the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby to begin his pre-season preparations under new head coach Andoni Iraola.
The 33-year-old Brazilian keeper was granted an extended break following his World Cup commitments, but he checked in to the club facility on Tuesday morning to undergo initial physical assessments.
His return comes at a vital moment for the coaching staff as the squad fly back from their pre-season tour of North America.
Iraola had previously confirmed that Alisson would join up with the group on the very first day of training back on English soil, ensuring the keeper has ample time to adapt to the new defensive setup before competitive fixtures commence.
The coaching staff plan to integrate Alisson into the first team squad later this week to prepare for their friendly against Monaco on Sunday.
