It wasn’t the greatest of performances again from Liverpool as they manage to claim a point from Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
Andoni Iraola‘s side dominated possession (69%) but, as was the case at Newcastle United last weekend, they struggled to convert this into goals and were caught out by the opposition.
There were positives to take from the game. Despite the defence looking vulnerable as a whole, Jeremy Jacquet once again looked composed alongside Virgil van Dijk.
Florian Wirtz also looked sharp today. He had a goal ruled offside by VAR and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet with several other chances.
There was some nice play from Cody Gakpo, crossing in for Alexander Isak to slot the ball home for Liverpool’s first goal. This is why we paid £125m for the former Newcastle striker and we nee to see a lot more of it this season.
Victor Munoz was also a live wire out on the wing throughout the game and was rewarded with a cracking first goal for the club, perfectly drilled home in front of the Kop to earn Liverpool a draw.
