Liverpool appoint new chief scout

Andrii Fedchenkov has agreed a deal to join Liverpool as a chief scout.

The 30-year-old Ukrainian will make the move in January, when his current contract with Flamengo comes to an end, according to ESPN.

Fedchenkov arrived at the Brazilian club at the beginning of 2025, alongside director of football José Boto, with whom he previously worked at PAOK and Shakhtar Donetsk.

He ‘specialises in the South American, European, and Japanese markets,’ according to ESPN journalist, Bruno Andrade.

With Julian Ward now sporting director following Richard Hughes’ departure last month, Fedchenkov is likely to replace chief scout Mark Burchill, who followed Hughes to Saudi Arabia.
