Liverpool FC has secured the top spot as the most culturally relevant football club among Europe’s leading clubs, according to an independent global study.
It demonstrates how the club’s influence extends far beyond the team’s achievements, powered by a rapidly-expanding international presence across social media, broadcasting, and digital platforms.
The Reds have earned the title of the Premier League’s most engaged club for the third straight year.
By blending traditional supporter culture, narrative storytelling, international events, and creative community initiatives, Liverpool regularly connects with audiences across broader landscapes of sport, entertainment, and modern popular culture.
The extensive research initiative has been conducted across 22 international markets by Harris and Toluna. Carried out to help the club and its commercial partners assess audience engagement, the survey examined the core factors driving cultural influence.
American Growth and Global Reach
This strong footprint is equally visible across the Atlantic. Within the United States, Liverpool emerged as the most culturally relevant European football outfit, securing 18% of the vote against 13% for the next European contender.
Hannah Pym, senior vice-president of marketing and digital at LFC, said: “Liverpool Football Club has always stood for more than football and we’re continually working to better understand the impact the club has on supporters around the world and the factors that drive that connection.
“To see the club recognised as the most culturally relevant football club reflects the breadth of our community, from the passionate supporter culture and deep roots we have here in the city of Liverpool, to our global fan base around the world. Their continued passion and support help Liverpool remain part of conversations far beyond football.”
