Where the money goes
Proceeds from the match go to the LFC Foundation and Forever Reds, the club’s official former player association. The money supports the Foundation’s health, learning and employability programmes in the Liverpool City Region and internationally.
LFC Foundation chief executive Matt Parish said: “We passionately believe a postcode should not determine a young person’s life chances.”
Last season the Foundation supported 239,421 people, a 65% increase on the year before, including more than 50,000 additional international participants. It now aims to support 500,000 people a year by 2030.
Forever Reds has donated £590,000 through its partnership with the Foundation since launching in 2018, with the funding focused on health, wellbeing and community care. The ten previous legends matches at Anfield have raised more than £10 million between them.
