It was a disappointing Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford. With Alexander Isak ruled out with a groin injury, Arne Slot had limited attacking options, choosing to play Cody Gakpo alone up front and pack the midfield.
Man Utd didn’t take long to score, with Cunha getting the opener in the 7th minute. Sesko follwed that up seven minutes later and Liverpool were starting to look well-beaten going into half-time 2-0 down.
Fortunately, the Reds came out strong for the second half. Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo brought them level, but Mainoo scored the winner for the home side on 77 minutes.
