Arne Slot is the man Liverpool Football Club have selected to take over from Jurgen Klopp.
He’s got massive boots to fill but the dutchman comes with all the credentials needed to be a success.
As a player he was a midfielder for FC Zwolle, NAC Breda, Sparta Rotterdam and PEC Zwolle before he went into coaching, initially at PEC, then AZ and eventually stepping up to be head coach of Feyenoord from the 21/22 season. Slot went on to lead Feyenoord to the league title in 22/23 and finish runners up in 23/24.
With a higher calibre squad and a bigger transfer kitty, it will be interesting to see how Slot performs at Liverpool. No doubt the critics will be comparing him to Klopp initially, but hopefully he will prove himself as a worthy successor.
