Liverpool coach Arne Slot was happy with his side’s opening pre-season 1-0 friendly victory over Spanish side Real Betis on Friday night.
“We had more than a few good moments in our high press,” he said after thwe game. “We won the ball a lot higher in their half. So one of the main things, what was also good is that we only conceded one big chance in the end of the game.
“In the first half, we controlled the game, I think, had a lot of ball possession, but there were many easy wins for us to make. I don’t meant that the game was easy for us, but I think there were some individual performances that could have been better.
“The choices we sometimes make it with the ball can and will be much better in the future. And in between. I think we’ve created, five, six, good attacks. And the goal was, I think, a fantastic example of that.”
