Liverpool are reported to have been making over 22-year-old Bologna centre-back Riccardo Calafiori.
According to The Athletic‘s James Horncastle, the Reds are among a number of clubs to have enquired about Calafiori’s availability, and now the Italian club’s sporting director Giovanni Sartori has added fuel to the fire.
“In our minds we want to keep him,” he said. “There has been talk of Juventus, but also many other clubs. If we were to receive big offers, we’d have to think about it.
“I don’t think he will go to Juventus, it will probably be abroad, but I repeat we will try to keep him.”
With Italy now out of the Euros, the player has returned home and transfer talks are expected to begin in earnest, with Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea also being linked with the player.
