Ibrahima Konate is stalling on signing a new contract with Liverpool.
The French defender is approaching into the final season of his current contract and has apparently rejected Liverpool’s initial offer of an extension.
According to reports from several sources, Konate is disappointed by the structure of the new deal offered by the club, with his representatives believed to be pushing for a higher basic wage rather than meeting performance targets.
With Liverpool keen on signing Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace, who is wanting guaranteed first team football, this could be the time to make that switch and get a feee for Konate rather than let him leave on a free at the end of the season. We hear that PSG are waiting in the wings.
