Three days after booking their place in the League Cup final against Newcastle, Liverpool travel to Plymouth Argyle for an FA Cup fourth round tie and another opportunity to win silverware in Arne Slot’s first season in charge at the club.
Caoimhin Kelleher is expected to keep his place in the League Cup final side and will also be hoping to also be in the starting XI at Home Park on Sunday.
“In the last few seasons we have obviously got to some finals. I think it’s just the mentality in the whole group is always spot on,” he said.
“We want to win every game we’re involved in, and I think that’s kind of the mentality – game by game. Obviously we’re a difficult team to beat in cup competitions. We want to win every competition we’re in. It’s that mentality to go out and win every game.
“We’re happy with the League Cup now we’re in the final. That’s a few weeks away now so that’ll be on the backburner. Focus will go towards the cup and the league as well.
“We have important games in both, all focus will be on that, we won’t take anything for granted and we want [the chance] to get more trophies than just the League Cup.”
