Jurgen Klopp‘s first serious job offer since leaving Liverpool at the end of last season has landed on his desk.
The United States want someone to replace Gregg Berhalter after their group stage exit from the Copa America and Klopp is top of their wanted list.
USA will be co-hosting the 2026 World Cup Finals with Canada and Mexico and need an experienced head coach to be able to compete with some of the better teams around the world.
But Klopp has turned down the opportunity to discuss the role with the United States Soccer Federation. He has already said he needs a break from the game and, despite an international job being less stressful on a day-to-day basis, Jurgen is wanting a longer holiday and will be much more likely to take a position back in Germany when the time is right.
