According to reports, Liverpool are working on deals for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi and Parma’s Giovanni Leoni as they prepare to fill the need for cover in the centre-back position for this season.
It is feasible that both players could be brought in, with Ibrahima Konate being sold to Real Madrid to make way for the new arrivals.
Guehi is apparently very keen on a move to Anfield, but the Reds are refusing to overpay on a player who is going into the final year of his contract.
Meanwhile, there has been no official contact with Parma for 18-year-old Leoni. Rather than a double deal, to us this looks more likely to be a Plan B to force Crystal Palace to accept an offer for Guehi.
