Luis Diaz has been ruled out of action until after Christmas, following the knee injury he picked up in Sunday’s 3-2 defeat at Arsenal.
The 25-year-old Colombian had a scan on Monday and does not require surgery but will not play until after the World Cup, missing at least 10 games for the Reds.
This comes as a blow for manager Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool struggle to find form so far this season, with ironically Diaz one of the few players actually putting in a decent effort in recent weeks.
If all goes well he will hopefully return to action away at Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
