Liverpool are preparing a second bid worth £45m for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, according to reports.
An initial offer of £35m plus add-ons was soundly rejected by the Saints, who look to be holding out for £50m.
With Jordan Henderson on his way to Saudi and Fabinho looking to be following him very soon, the urgency to bring in a midfielder is increasing.
Arsenal and Chelsea are both believed to be monitoring developments.
