Liverpool have agreed a €100m deal to sign Darwin Nunez from Benfica.
The two clubs have reached a verbal agreement and are preparing the paperwork to compete the deal.
Liverpool will pay a €80m for the striker plus up to another €20m in add-ons, which would make the Uruguayan forward their record signing above the £75m paid for Virgil van Dijk from Southampton.
Nunez has scored 48 goals from 85 appearances in his two seasons at the Portuguese club.
The 22-year-old is set to sign a five-year deal, freeing up Sadio Mane to move on to Bayern Munich.
