John Heitinga has been appointed assistant coach to Arne Slot ahead of the new season.
The 40-year-old Dutchman played for Ajax, Atletico Madrid, Everton, Fulham and Hertha BSC. He also won 87 caps for the Netherlands before hanging up his boots in 2016.
He then moved into coaching and was caretaker manager at Ajax before becoming assistant coach at West Ham United last season.
