Gareth Southgate looks set to ignore recent run of form as he decides on the England squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 finals.
Trent Alexander-Arnold‘s form may have dipped as Liverpool struggled at the start of this year, but the full-back has been playing out of his skin in recent weeks and it seems crazy that the England boss looks set to overlook him when he announces his 26-man squad. Instead he is expected to opt for Chelsea’s Reece James.
It will be a blow for the Liverpool man, who was dropped from the national team for the World Cup qualifiers in March, but from a selfish perspective, it will mean he starts the new season fully fit and raring to go.
