The Best Midfield In The World

By Andy Jones

“The Best Midfield In The World” celebrates the Liverpool engine room of the mid to late 2000s: Xabi Alonso, Mohamed Sissoko, Steven Gerrard and Javier Mascherano. It’s a short, boastful terrace chant from the Rafael Benitez era, when that midfield four helped carry Liverpool to the 2007 Champions League final.

Oh oh oh oh oh oh
We’ve got the best midfield in the world
Xabi Alonso, Momo Sissoko, Gerrard and Mascheranoooo…
