Arne Slot has given an update on the injuries to Giorgi Mamardashvili and Joe Gomez ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at Anfield.
“Giorgi will definitely not be available for tomorrow and also not for the upcoming weeks. Ali is close to a return to play, so let’s see if tomorrow comes too early, yes or no.
“And that leaves, of course, Freddie Woodman as an option, who is definitely fit.”
When asked about Gomez, who missed the Merseyside derby with an undisclosed injury.
“He is back in the squad, so that’s really positive because last week I only had two centre-backs that were playing and no-one on the bench so it’s really helpful that Joe is back,” Slot stated.
The boss also provided an update on Wataru Endo, who has been out of action since picking up an ankle injury in February.
“Wata is starting to go outside. Not with the team yet, but starting to do exercises outside on the pitch with the rehab team so he is making steps, but he will not be available next week for United or the week after.
“But we are hoping and expecting him to be back at the end of the season.”
