Liverpool injury update ahead of Forest on Saturday

As is nearly always the case, several Liverpool players have picked up injuries while on duty with their respective countries during international week.

This time, Harvey Ellliott returns from England Under-21’s action with a fractured foot that is likely to rule him out of action for six weeks.

It is touch and go for alexis Mac Allister, who will have a late fitness test before it is decided whether he will be be available to face Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday.

The Argentinian midfielder picked up a muscle injury during last Friday’s World Cup qualifier with Chile. He then missed training but featured in Tuesday night’s game in Colombia, playing 26 minutes of the 2-1 defeat.

Arne Slot will be providing a fitness update on all the squad on Friday morning.
