Liverpool have reached an agreement for the transfer of Giorgi Mamardashvili, subject to a work permit and international clearance.
However, the 23-year-old Valencia goalkeeper will remain in Spain for the rest of this season.
Mamardashvili has made 102 appearances for the La Liga side and kept 31 clean sheets in all competitions.
It is believed he will be a back-up for Alisson, should the Brazilian stopper decide not to renew his current contract.
