Liverpool’s 3-2 win at Southampton on Sunday extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points, with Man City losing 4-0 at home to Tottenham on Saturday.
An early goal from Dominik Szoboszlai and two from Mo Salah in the second half secured the victory, but Arne Slot is not getting carried away.
“Last season, even later on in the season, that Arsenal led by eight points and City came back,” he said after the game at St Mary’s.
“So, you know, if you face Arsenal, City, Chelsea and all these other teams. Tottenham was great yesterday as well.
“They’re all able to win so many games in a row. So it’s nice to have this position, but we are definitely not getting carried away.”
