Liverpool travel to Austria for Wednesday night’s Champions League clash with LASK Linz. Don’t forget its a 5.45pm kick-off!
The Reds are expected to comfortably win this one, although nothing is guaranteed at this level and Andoni Iraola may well have to call upon several fringe players to stand in for the injured Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo if he wants to rest other members of his first team.
“Champions League away games are always tough, we know this,” said Iraola ahead of the match.
“It’s a team that in their competition, they won the competition. They are normally dominant, they spend a lot of time on the ball. And they have to change their approach a little bit when they go to face stronger opposition in the Champions League.
“We have this season the precedent of Celtic losing here 5-1 in extra-time. We have to respect them.
“Obviously we want to come here and win. I assume that probably we are the favourites but you have to come here, do the job and play well, because otherwise away games in the Champions League are never easy.”
The game will be shown live on Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max and TNT Sports 2 in the UK, plus NOWTV subscribers will also be able to stream it.
