Liverpool sold Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen for £35m last summer but have a buy-back clause written into that deal and the Echo claim he could be on his way back this summer.
According to the paper, Quansah has already agreed personal terms on a new Liverpool contract, should the Reds decide to exercise that option.
With Ibrahima Konate on his way this summer, Quansah may be an option if attempts to sign Sporting centre-back Goncalo Inaci fall through.
The 23-year-old would be able to slot back in quite easily, giving new boss Andoni Iraola options as Giovanni Leoni and Jeremy Jacquet return to full fitness.
