James Milner was delighted with Liverpool’s Premier League win over Tottenham at Wembley on Saturday afternoon, but admits there is still a lot of improvement needed.
The Reds looked to be cruising to their fifth win from five games when Spurs clawed back a goal in injury time to deny Alisson his fourth clean sheet for the club. After a tense final few minutes te ref blew his whistle and Liverpool claimed the three points.
“It’s a wake up call and gives you a reality check,” Milner said after the game. “It makes you stop and think ‘hang on a minute we’re not as good as we thought’ and we can improve a lot more, back to our top level that we were at last year and even further than that.
“We have to keep improving and working hard.”
