Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola has been publicly advised to reject a potential big-money transfer to Liverpool this summer.
The 23-year-old attacker has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs following a string of impressive performances for France at the ongoing World Cup tournament.
Liverpool are known to be monitoring the market for wide attacking options, following the high-profile departure of Mohamed Salah this summer.
The Reds had initially targeted Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig, but with that player preferring a move to the French capital, the club has shifted focus toward Barcola as a primary alternative target.
However, former World Cup winner Marcel Desailly has stepped forward to warn the young attacker against making a hasty switch to England.
Desailly insists that the winger is still far too young to be moving abroad and would benefit significantly from another year of regular football in his native country.
The French champions are also incredibly reluctant to sanction a sale, slapping a price tag well in excess of £100m on their prized asset to ward off interest from both Liverpool and Arsenal.
New boss Andoni Iraola is eager to sign attacking talent that suits his high-tempo pressing system, but prising Barcola away from Paris is shaping up to be an incredibly complicated and expensive piece of business.
Whether the club chooses to match that immense valuation or pursues alternative targets remains to be seen.
