The Yan Diomande transfer news is starting to become tiresome. It’s clear that he is Liverpool’s primary signing to replace Mohamed Salah this summer, but Liverpool are not necessarily his first choice destination.
Paris St Germain seem to be the preferred choice, but he (or more likely his agent) is playing us off against each other in a bid to get the best deal.
The Athletic‘s David Ornstein claims that Liverpool have increased their efforts to “step up their pursuit” and are “also in the strongest position with the player over a potential deal at present.”
Not to be outdone, Fabrizio Romano claims that Liverpool have offered the “best salary” so far, but talks are ongoing between Leipzig and both clubs.
The player’s club, RB Leipzig want €130m for the right winger but neither club appear to be willing to pay this much.
Don’t expect this deal to be done quickly.
