Liverpool v Bournemouth Preview

Back in the game and off the back of a great performance midweek we look ahead to welcoming Bournemouth to Anfield on Saturday.

I suspect there may be one or two changes perhaps with Gakpo holding a place ahead of Diaz but that won’t change my confidence in the boys this weekend.

Bournemouth plucky but open

Watching Bournemouth play Chelsea last Saturday night was enjoyable. They play a nice brand of football which is easy on the eye. It’s not possession-filled but it’s certainly attacking. They look to move the ball quickly up the pitch and are more than happy to shoot from speculative positions. The ball goes into the box plenty and they certainly ask questions of the oppositions backline. They were ultimately unlucky to lose that match having had a penalty saved at 0-0.

They will look to sit deep and counter in this one not too dissimilar to Forest but I don’t expect lightning to strike twice. There will be big chances for Liverpool here on the back of winning possession high up the pitch. The Bournemouth backline is not perfect and they are in playing in front of new keeper Kepa who had to miss the last game due to loan rules and not playing against his parent club. So the back 4 and keeper aren’t settled together and the movement of our forward line will hurt them.
