It’s a little disrespectful to certain teams to say this is the first real test of the league season for us but in truth, it’s the first time we will meet a team likely to finish in the top 6 this season…maybe even the top 8
😉
Palmer and co roll into town
Cole Palmer and his teammates have made a decent start to the season. Certainly from an attacking perspective they’ve been able to hit the back of the net 18 times, that’s 5 more than us. Their defence however has shipped on average more than a goal per game while we still still with only 2 conceded in 7 which is clearly the best in the league. The next best defence is Arsenal with 6 conceded in 7.
The only time Chelsea have faced serious opposition away from Stamford Bridge this season they were shut-out at Man City in the opening round of the season. They lost 2-0 that day and never really looked likely. It’s reasonable to assume they are a better outfit now after several signings have had chance to settle in and the team has got used to new coach Maresca’s tactics.
