Rio Ngumoha has been officially named on the shortlist for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
The 17-year-old forward enjoyed an astonishing breakthrough campaign under the previous regime, racking up 29 senior appearances and hitting two memorable goals, although not getting the game time under Arne Slot that we would have all liked to see.
His stunning injury time winner away at Newcastle United last August wrote his name into the history books as the youngest goalscorer in Liverpool’s history.
Ngumoha is set to face stiff competition for the prestigious award, with the shortlist featuring elite talents such as Kobbie Mainoo and Rayan Cherki.
