It turned into a comfortable win for Liverpool at Brentford on Saturday afternoon, but there was a cost. Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota both picked up serious injuries and are both unlikely to play in next weekend’s Carabao Cup Final against Chelsea.
On a positive note, Mo Salah returned from injury and found his stride straight away, scoring and making an assist.
The three points see Liverpool maintain their position at the top of the Premier League, reinforced after Manchester City’s draw with Chelsea later in the day.
