Liverpool have confirmed that Ibrahima Konate will leave the club as a free agent when his current contract expires on 30 June.
The French defender failed to agree terms on a new contract, despite assuring the club that he wanted to stay. However as the season progressed it became clear he was running his contract down.
A club statement reads:
“Liverpool FC can confirm Ibrahima Konate is set to leave the club upon the expiry of his contract this summer. Konate will depart with our gratitude and appreciation for the contribution he made and everyone at the club wishes him the best for the future.”
Konate also posted a farewell message on his socials…

The 27-year-old centre-back has been at Liverpool for five years, helping the Reds to the FA Cup, League Cup and Premier League. We wish him well wherever he decides to go.
