The ‘will he, won’t he?’ Anthony Gordon transfer saga continues.
With Newcastle needing to sell players to balance their books, it was reported last week that Liverpool have been in talks about possibly signing the former Everton winger. however, the deadline for Profit and Sustainability rules passed on 30th June and the deal became less urgent.
Then, over the weekend, apparently Liverpool rejected the Magpies request to include Jarell Quansah in thje deal, although Newcastle are now denying this.
It could be that any move will be dependent upon whether an acceptable offer is received from Barcelona for Luis Diaz. While the Colombian international insists he is happy at Anfield, there are growing rumours of a possible move to La Liga and a lifelong Liverpool fan with his heart set on a dream move to Anfield seems like the perfect relpacement.
We expect this to roll on at least until after the Euro 2024 finals and Copa America. We’ll keep you posted.
