Mohamed Salah contract officially terminates at midnight tonight

Exactly 3295 days ago Liverpool signed an Egyptian winger from Roma for £36.9m, breaking the club’s transfer fee record in the process.

Mohamed Salah went on to help the Reds win the Premier League twice, the Champions League, the FA Cup, League Cup, Club World Cup, Super Cup and Community Shield.

In addition, he picked up a fair few individual awards along the way…

Premier League Golden Boot (4): 2017-18 (32 goals), 2018-19 (22 goals), 2021-22 (23 goals), 2024-25 (29 goals) — tying with Thierry Henry for the most Golden Boots in Premier League history.

  • FIFA Puskas Award: 2018 – for his goal against Everton
  • CAF African Footballer of the Year (2): 2017, 2018

He also left the club as Liverpool’s all-time top goalscorer in the Premier League (191), having smashed Robbie Fowler’s long-standing record.

He is also third in the list of Liverpool Football Club’s top goalscorers in total (257).

After making his decision to leave Liverpool back in March, then playing his final game in the final game of the season against Brentford in front of an adoring Anfield crowd, Mo Salah’s contract ends at midnight tonight.

From Wednesday he becomes a free agent and, wherever he chooses to go, we all wish him the very best of success at his new club.

Thank you, Mo!
