Last week’s 3-0 victory in Marseille has left Liverpool in a very strong position for a top-four slot in the group phase too.
However, they must beat Qarabag to be sure of avoiding the play-offs. A draw could be enough, but it depends how the nine teams below Liverpool do on Wednesday night.
A must-win against Qarabag it the only guaranteed method of automatic qualification for the Round of 16.
If Liverpool do win and finish in the top four, the second leg of their Round of 16 tie and any quarter-final tie will be at Anfield.
