Could Ruben Neves be on his way to Liverpool?

There’s plenty of talk in the Sunday papers that Wolves have resigned themselves to losing Ruben Neves in the summer.

The 26-year-old midfielder’s current contract expires in July and there has been no agreement on an extension.

With Liverpool looking less likely to qualify for the Champions League next season, their chances of signing Jude Bellingham also look less and less likely.

While fans will be disappointed to miss out on Bellingham, Neves would be a great fallback signing.

The Portuguese international would cost in the region of £50m – a free the Reds would have to be prepared to offer if they are to strengthen the squad and avoid another failed season.

However, competition for his signature is expected to be fierce, with Man Utd, Barcelona and Real Madrid also linked.
