Ekitike doubtful for Arsenal clash

Hugo Ekitike may miss Thursday night’s Premier League clash at Arsenal.

The French striker missed Sunday’s game against Fulham with an undisclosed injury and Arne Slot revealed on Wednesday that he is doutbtful for the game at The Emirates.

“He has not trained with us until now and let’s see if he can today,” said the boss.

“I’ve said, I think, two or three days ago when we played Fulham that he is not going to be out for long but because games come so fast he is in between maybe training with the team or it would take him one or two days extra.”

With Alexander Isak out for the long term, Liverpool are in dire need of a number 9 to get those goals if we are to improve on recent results.

A win at league leaders Arsenal was always going to be a tough ask, but doing so without a main striker will be even harder.

Will Slot trust Federico Chiesa on Thursday if Ekitike isn’t fit?
