Alexander Isak’s potential transfer from Newcastle United to Liverpool appears to be hinging on what happens to Darwin Nunez this transfer window.
The Uruguayan striker is surplus to requirements at Anfield and, while a move to Napoli seemed to be on the cards in the last couple of weeks, the two clubs have been unable to agree a price. The Serie A champions are prepared to pay up to €42m, but Liverpool are holding out for around €50m.
Napoli are eyeing up Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca as a Plan B, but if Liverpool are to be able to sign Isak they are going to have to offload Nunez.
Newcastle have already rejected a £50m offer, so it could be some time before a deal can be agreed.
