Liverpool injury update as Reds return from international duty

As we prepare for the return of club football and Liverpool’s home clash with Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon, we take at which players are fit to play and which are still struggling with injuries.

The big news is that, all being well, Alisson Becker will return in goal after recovering from a hamstring injury picked up at Galatasaray way back at the end of September.

Jeremie Frimpong is still recovering from the hamstring injury he picked up against Eintracht Frankfurt last month, but Alexander Isak is expected to be in the matchday squad after playing for half an hour of Sweden’s World Cup qualifier at Switzerland on Saturday.

We’ll have to wait for the assesments on the fitness of other players returning from international duty, but Arne Slot will update us all in Friday’s press conference.
