Liverpool host West Ham at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, knowing that nine points is all that is needed to win the Premier League title.
We crunch the numbers ahead of the big game…
West Ham won 3-0 at Anfield in August 2015 but that is their only victory in their last 57 games at Anfield in all competitions (D14, L42), losing each of the past nine.
Liverpool won December’s game at West Ham 5-0 and also beat the Hammers 5-1 in the League Cup last September. No English top-flight team has ever scored five goals or more three times against a specific team in a single season, so this is another record the Reds will be hoping to break.
Defeat at Fulham ended Liverpool’s unbeaten run of 26 Premier League matches and the Reds have lost three of their past four games in all competitions – as many defeats as in their previous 41 fixtures.
Liverpool are looking for a sixth consecutive home league win. They are unbeaten in 13 top-flight matches at Anfield (winning 11) since losing to Nottingham Forest back in September.
This will be Arne Slot’s 50th game in all competitions as Liverpool head coach (W35, D7, L7).
Mo Salah has failed to score or assist in each of his last four Liverpool appearances, his longest such run since a four-game sequence in March 2021. Now that he has signed a new contract, lets hope he refinds that form for the run-in.
