Jarrod Bowen is being strongly linked with a move to Liverpool, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could go the other way.
Bowen was left out of the Hammers friendly against newly-promoted Brentford on Saturday afternoon, prompting speculation of a switch to Liverpool as soon as the Reds return to the UK from their pre-season training camp in the Alps.
Meanwhile, Oxlade-Chamberlain is looking surplus to requirements at Anfield and could be used as part of the deal to bring in the Hammers forward.
