As we all feared, Arne Slot has confirmed that Wataru Endo will be out of action for some time.
The Japanese midfielder, filling in at right-back against Sunderland on Wednesday night, picked up an ankle injury and had to be stretchered off the field.
“We still need to assess but it’s clear and obvious he’s out for quite a long times,” the Liverpool manager said in his Friday press conference. “Don’t forget he is a good centre-back and midfielder, too, and it is not as though positions, we’re quite vulnerable there as well.”
Fortunately for Slot, Dominik Szoboszlai returns from suspension ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round clash with Brighton, although he may opt to play Calvin Ramsey instead.
