Arne Slot has updated us on Florian Wirtz’s fitness as Liverpool prepare to return to Molineux for Friday night’s FA Cup clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The German midfielder has missed Liverpool’s last three matches with a back injury, but it is possible he will play a part in Friday’s game.
“He trained half and half yesterday with the team,” Slot said at his pre-match press conference. “What I mean with that is he was a ‘joker’, you say over here I think, so he made the next step in his rehab.
“So, let’s see where he is today and if he then could be available for a few – a few – minutes tomorrow, in the best scenario.”
After Tuesday night’s disappointing 2-1 defeat at Wolves, the Reds will be determined not to make the same mistakes as they look to progress beyond the fifth round of the competition.
