Liverpool’s 4-1 home defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Wednesday night was a huge shock, but former Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard refuses to accept that the club are in a crisis at this moment in time.
“Crisis? What crisis? I don’t think it’s a crisis,” he said after the game at Anfield. “Yes, it’s a very disappointing result, one of the worst in recent history, but I think we need to put things into perspective.
“We have to focus on improving as a team, addressing individual mistakes, and making sure we respond in the next match. It’s not the end of the world, and calling it a crisis is overstating it.”
